Where God's Power Begins

For those of you who watched my encouragement video from 2 weeks ago (it's on the ministry website, front page), I think I may have made Fort Wayne sound a bit "podunk"... But in fact, we have all sorts of great stuff here in Indiana! For instance, a beautiful downtown set on three rivers:

And beautiful parks and riverwalks! Here's a different view of downtown Ft. Wayne, at night:

Fort Wayne has wonderful wildlife refuge areas, like this one below, where we recently hiked (and saw close to a dozen deer!)

And because it's Spring, we have beautiful cherry blossom trees!

AND GUESS WHAT ELSE we have here in Indiana? SNOW in the forecast. In late April. Welcome to the Midwest! :-) WELL, a quick word of encouragement for you...

"Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit," says the LORD Almighty. Zechariah 4:6

Me w/ Kent Morris, nationally-recognized authority on live sound who taught classes here recently. He's the lead sound engineer every Sunday for First Baptist in Atlanta, where Dr. Charles Stanley preaches every week (at age 88!)

The Sound Technology course in which I'm presently immersed has been completed by hundreds of students over the years, including some with a Master's degree - and even a few with Doctorates - in Sound Engineering. Yes, those really big-brain technology types, with tons of training and experience. And they have remarked that this course was more challenging and more intense than their Master's/Doctorate programs were.

SO... then there's ME: Mr. PIANO-PLAYER-WORSHIP-PASTOR-GUY with NO Sound Engineering degree whatsoever, TOSSED IN THE DEEEEEEP END of the 12-14 hours-a-day-study-and-pray-like-crazy routine here!

Since I lack the university studies and years of experience in designing sound systems that some of my fellow students have, I can only rely upon... JESUS!

For He Himself has said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you." So we may boldly say: "The LORD is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?"

Hebrews 13:5-6

God knows how to stretch us beyond what we're able to handle on our own (I'm living that daily), and how to be strong in our weakness. Remember: you'll never learn to swim so long as your feet can touch the bottom of the pool.

God has a plan, even in this late hour, to seek and save the lost! But friends, the church-superstars and celebrity-driven Christianity we've had here in America won't work. God wants to show His power through those aware of their need for Him:

But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.

2 Corinthians 4:7

"My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness."

2 Corinthians 12:9

God is at work on the earth, and He's looking for people He can use. He doesn't need you to be smart or awesome, just surrendered and available... Will you ask Him to use you this week? Bring your life to Jesus, just like that empty jar of clay, and ask Him to fill it with His power and love till you overflow!

"For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him."

2 Chronicles 16:9

May the Lord be STRONG in your weakness this week,
