If the fruit is Fear, the tree isn't Truth. God will guide His children through many valleys and mountains in life, but the fruit (the result) of heeding His voice and following His leading will always be peace. Even in the face of possible loss, opposition, bad medical reports, or whatever comes - the facts may be daunting, but God's presence in our hearts means we don't have to live in fear. "Fear not, for I am with you..." (Isaiah 41:10).
That's one of the surest ways to know that you're hearing and obeying the Lord's will in a decision: it is attended with God's peace. "And let the peace of God rule in your hearts..." (Col. 3:15).
So when the "what if's" of life strike fear into your heart, remember: when the fruit is fear, the tree isn't truth. Don't heed the counsel of your fears, and don't entertain the threats of the enemy (whose very kingdom is typified by fear). Instead, start speaking the promises of the Word of God, whose "perfect love casts out fear" (1 John 4:18). Singing His praise - even if your praise feels feeble - gives Him great glory in the midst of your storm, and strengthens your heart too.
For He Himself has said, "Never will I leave you, never will I forsake you." So we may boldly say, "The LORD is my helper, whom shall I fear?"
AMEN! He's promised to work this very trial before you together for your good... I pray for God to quicken your faith and strengthen your heart, so you can rest in His love and know His peace - even in the midst of the battle.
May the peace of God - which surpasses all human understanding - guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus this week, and may you abound in the grace and power of the Holy Spirit... in Jesus, name, Amen!
Much love in Jesus,
