The Safest Place in the World

My "not click bait" list

Ever seen those "safest place in America" lists online? Yes, I know, they're click bait - but people do click, because 1) a desire to feel safe is one of the deepest human needs, and 2) crime is on the rise in many areas.

SO, I would like to share my "safest place in the universe" list with you ~ it's short, it's not click bait, and so there are no annoying ads for weight loss or liver detox programs :-)

My list? Simple: it's right where you are, right now, in your Father's hands:

My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of My Father's hand.

John 10:29

Storms can come, economies can crash, "wars and rumors of wars" can arise, people you trusted can desert you and those you served can turn on you ~ but none of it can take you out of the place of His watchful care.

His "perfect love casts out fear" (1 John 4:18), His presence is fullness of joy (Ps. 16:11), and His promise is to give you His very own peace (John 14:27) ~ that's a recipe for a blessed, abundant life no matter what comes your way.

So let's disengage from the threats, worries, and sense of false urgency that life's trials can throw at us - none of those things can harm us, because none of them can take us out of our Father's hands. Our Father is greater than all, He's promised to perfect what concerns us (Ps. 138:8), and He's intimately acquainted with all your ways (Ps. 139:3).  Let's close with a reminder from Jesus:

Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.

Matthew 10:29-31

You are more precious to Him than your ability to fathom! Why not cast every care on Him, leave the heavy lifting to the One who is more than able, and walk in simple trust and devotion to Him this week.

May you rest easy in the safety of His hands,

Matthew

Hi, I'm Matthew Casey Langston. I met Jesus at 110 mph ~ a high speed car crash at age 16 convinced me of my need for a friendship with Jesus (so different from a mere religious experience!), and I totally surrendered my life to Him.

Early in marriage, my wife Michelle and I felt a call from God to share Jesus' love and mercy with others - starting with overseas missions, training at the University of the Nations and the Institute for Hebraic Christian Studies, and then years of ministry in churches across the States. Worship leading, Bible teaching, radio & TV outreach, men's ministry, devotional writing, church planting, and more - God has kept us busy!

I love sharing God's words of hope & refreshing via my "e-couragement" devotional emails. I pray that they're an encouragement to you (not signed up yet? Just drop us a line, and we'll send them to you!)
